Who is up for this? Will it be all of Germany against the small band of vegan brothers in iron at MVS or will a whole continent of scrawny European undereaters attempt to dethrone the defending champs?

We'll sort out the finer details once we get enough folks involved (so far it looks like just me and Baldy) but here are the rules from last year:

Quote:
- the final score will be the total of the calories taken in by the top 5 eaters from each team PLUS the average total calories taken in by all the other team participants
- only vegan foods are allowed of course
- it starts at 8am and ends at midnight
- you have to eat something at least every 3 hours
- you have to eat at least 200 calories at a time, if you eat less they don't count.
- only a maximum of 20% of the calorie total is allowed to come from liquids, the rest must be solid food.
- puked calories count in neither direction and there is a 2 hour puking restriction period after the end of the competition
- the VSTG and MVS teams have to be named at least a day in advance.

Who is putting their hands up for this ultimate test of intestinal fortitude?

MVS/Team antipodes:
Andrewc
Talyn (7110)

MVS top 5:
Hannibal - 13536.38
Hardcore Iv - 10380.1

Given the difficulty in calculating calories, I suggest that this year the only food allowed for the duration of the day is standardised and weighed.

I suggest oats, salt and water.

Them's tough calories.

Where are the calories in salt and water? Wasted belly space if you ask me!

I might have a pop at this - be interesting to see what I can pack away as I don't lift presently, but have a very manual job. Without trying I've been up to 7000kcal on tough days. 10k might be doable.

10000 seems a realistic goal, but on calculation that would be 25 Linda Mc Cartney pies (or 2.6kg or raw oats).
I need to start practicing.

Even if I am part of Team EU, I will still eat more calories than you!

You guys are all mental ;-) .. I managed a PB of about 4500 cals the other day and felt like I'd just been eating constantly.

(I am a scrawny triathlete though)

I'll represent the women and Euro camp, and baldy and I can partly represent Africa here too. What day is this?

UPDATE: Joining my team will be helmut and bokchoybitch.

What do you folks think about having weight divisions? It could level the playing field for the lightweights who don't think they can break the 10k calorie standard of the heavyweights.
